What's a
Breakout Session?

Lessons from the field. Hour-long, lecture-style presentations led by Tableau employees, customers, partners, sponsors, and Zen Masters. Sessions usually include PowerPoint presentations and Tableau demos.

  • First come, first served attendance
  • Visible in app schedule and can be favorited (starting in October)
  • Double-booked or didn't get to see every session you wanted to? Breakout Sessions are recorded and will be available on-demand through the Virtual Conference site

What is
Hands-On Training?

When we say “hands-on” we mean it. This two-hour, classroom-style session has you following along with the lesson on a Tableau-provided computer. Led by expert Tableau trainers and assistants, these sessions include presentations, Tableau demos, and step-by-step exercises to help you learn new skills, tips and tricks in Tableau. Hands-On Training sessions are usually focused on a specific Tableau functionality.

  • Pre-registration via app recommended (available now)
  • Session materials (instructions and related workbooks) available post-conference through Tableau Conference Live site

What are
Keynotes?

This is the big show. Tableau Keynote opens with CEO Adam Selipsky, and our Chairman and Co-founder, Christian Chabot, who will share Tableau’s vision for the future along with other senior leaders. Things really get fun when we bring our Developers on Stage to highlight the features they’ve built. Guest keynote speakers—industry leaders hand-picked for our data-loving crowd—appear throughout the week.

  • Visible in app schedule and can be favorited (starting in October)
  • Tableau keynote and Devs on Stage keynote is made available on-demand through Virtual Conference site
  • Guest keynotes are not recorded

What's a
Certification Exam?

Flaunt your skills with Tableau certifications. These testing sessions certify your Tableau knowledge in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server. Certification fees are deeply discounted for conference attendees. Some exams have pre-requisites. Check out the Certification page for details.

  • Advance registration and additional fee are required, the fee can be paid during the registration process
  • Offered on Monday, Thursday, and Friday (see exam schedule for more details)

  • Advance registration and additional fee are required, the fee can be paid during the registration process
  • Offered on Monday and Friday (see schedule for more details)

What's a
Meetup?

Meetups are the best way to find YOUR data people at conference. These informal gatherings can be organized around job roles, industries, or specific topics. Meetups start on Monday and run throughout the week.

  • First-come, first-serve attendance
  • Visible in app schedule and can be favorited

What's
Tableau Doctor?

Paging Dr. Data. Tableau Doctor is your chance to get one-on-one time with a Tableau specialist. These sessions can help you learn a new skill, solve a connection quandary, or unravel a workbook woe. You can make a 30-minute appointment, visit the Walk-In clinic, or stop by the Minute Clinic for a quick fix.

  • Traditional Tableau Doctor appointments can only be made on-site (appointment setting starts Sunday, appointments start Tuesday). Scheduled appointments are limited to one per person, but you can visit the Walk-In Clinic (starting Monday) or Minute Clinic anytime (no appointment needed)
  • Come to your appointment prepared with data sets and/or workbooks
  • Walk-In Clinic is just like a traditional Tableau Doctor appointment but they are not scheduled and are on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Minute Clinics are located in the expo halls. Stop in there to get a quick fix and find additional resources
