Human Capital began a massive overhaul of the OCC's hiring process in January 2016 after leadership identified "matching our workforce with our needs" as the number one risk to the agency. The process has included an analysis of the current state of hiring, the implementation of a robust staffing log to track requests and workload, and the development of reporting tools, made available to both HR and external customers. In this session, we’ll share our process improvement journey. You’ll learn how we established a baseline, proved and disproved anecdotes, innovated and collaborated, and what’s next in our long term plan.
Learn how a governmental agency transformed data into information in less than nine months by leveraging knowledge and technology to capture operational efficiencies, identify patterns and trends, and guide resource allocation while providing quality customer service throughout its Justice Centers.
During this session, attendees will hear from the Court’s CFAO on the following topics:
- The Superior Court of California, County of Orange Approach: Overview of steps and lessons learned in building a data-driven environment in less than nine months- The Power of a Good Demo: Sample dashboards used in “making the case” for Tableau to judicial and executive leadership and operational staff- Organizational Impact: A summary of current and upcoming Tableau-inspired dashboard requests- Superior Court of California, County of Orange’s 3-Year Action Plan: CAVE - Court Analytics Visual Environment
As a public service entity, the Court generates and maintains millions of rows of data each year from various sources. In facing numerous challenges including decreased funding, facility closures, and position vacancies, coupled with less incoming business, the Court found an opportunity to make timely, informed decisions by investing in court-wide analytics.
This informal gathering is a chance for you to connect with other Tableau users in the same business and see and hear what other people are achieving by using Tableau. During the meetup, you’ll have time for general networking and more in-depth table conversations. Meetup seating is filled on a first come, first seated basis; space is limited.
This discussion will illustrate how the federal government is leveraging data to drive decisions making. We will discuss how data visualizations are used to help organizations find the “needle in hay stack” that could make a big difference in key performance metrics. In particular, we will look at some ways we are using real property and acquisition data to inform both policy and management decisions.
