Well-designed Tableau dashboards allow end-users to interact and drive analysis of data in a visually stimulating environment. The Tableau Server enables sharing such dashboards to a much larger audience. R-integration allows the dashboard designer to write custom R scripts enabling complex regression analysis.
Stephen demonstrates how the FDIC is envisions using R-integration on their Tableau Server to allow interactors to drive their own visual and statistical analysis, and share best practices on how Tableau users can integrate R into their own dashboards. For this session, Stephen will show how Tableau and R together create a powerful tool for statisticians and non-statisticians to analyze data, using the FDIC's 2013 Survey of Unbanked and Under-Banked Households. Stephen will provide detailed examples and best practices to help those unfamiliar with the R environment, including R-scripts for debugging, multiple regression (OLS and Logit), combining multiple R-queries in a single calculated field.
Your organization has deployed Tableau Server. Is it stuck on cruise control? What is the level of consumption for your Tableau User Community? How many are using it effectively and/or efficiently? It's time to step (kick) it up a gear. This presentation will provide you the utilization formula that will make Tableau Server more powerful, persuasive, and personal.
Care and feeding of the Tableau user community is fundamental to the effectiveness of GM's implementation of Tableau, and is essential to deriving value from the Tableau investment. This is accomplished through focused utilization efforts aimed at our community groups of authors (power users) and consumers. Authors improve the delivery of published content when they leverage tips and advice in design, development, and performance testing. Consumers increase the value add when they learn to personalize options that fully leverage productivity features of Tableau's GUI.
