Data is at the core of everything Tableau does, and this often means connecting it to a database. Databases are in themselves complex machines, and the field has a rich set of concepts and lingo that can be intimidating to the uninitiated. If you have a passing exposure to databases, but want to know more, consider this your initiation. This session will focus on relational databases (the bread and butter of the database world), introducing the basics of how they organize and query data, and how indexes work and affect performance. We’ll also demystify how Tableau interacts with databases, and survey how new systems are extending the relational model.
This session is also available at the following time(s): Tuesday at 10:45 am and Wednesday at 3:15 pm
